Remembrance Day Service - Ambassador

Every November 11, Canadians across the country pause in a silent moment of remembrance for the men and women who served our country during wartime.

We honour those who fought for Canada – in the First World War (1914-1918), the Second World War (1939-1945) and the Korean War (1950-1953). More than 1,500,000 Canadians served overseas — more than 100,000 died.

Support our service by assisting with information, handing our programs and directing attendees. Please note, the service is outside and will run rain or shine. 

Date: Wednesday, November 11, 2026

Times: 9:30am - 12:30pm

Location: Veterans Park
2580 Shaughnessy Street, Port Coquitlam

Check-in: Please check in with Caroline or Erica outside the Michael Wright Art Gallery at the Gathering Place, just off Donald Street.

Specific volunteer duties will include: Welcoming eventgoers; handing out event programs; providing event information from the program and directions to different facilities.

Working Conditions: Our Remembrance Day Service will run RAIN OR SHINE. Please dress appropriately for the weather. 

Requirements:

• Minimum of 16 years of age
• Enjoy working independently and as part of a team
• Enjoy engaging with members of the public
• Experience in events or festivals is an asset
• Fluent in spoken English (fluency in a second language is an asset)
