Winter Market - Event Assistant

Join us for Winter Market on Saturday, November 28^th  and Sunday, November 29^th! This event will have include a variety of local artisan market venders, and  food vendors..

Event Assistants will assist City staff in a variety of duties, helping to get the event set up, arts & crafts, and assisting with the operation of various event activities such as Market Draw Prizes and Letters to Santa. 

Date: Saturday, November 28^th  and Sunday, November 29^th

Times:

Saturday, November 28^th

• 9:45am - 1:00pm OR
• 12:45pm - 4:15pm

Sunday, November 29^th

• 9:45am - 2:00pm OR
• 1:45pm - 6:15pm

Location: Port Coquitlam Community Centre (2150 Wilson Avenue, Port Coquitlam)

Please check in at the Volunteer Check-In Table in the Aquatics Activity Room (across from Wilson Lounge).

This role will assist with a variety of roles depending on what is needed at various times of the event. Specific volunteer duties may include:

• Assisting at the Market Draw Prize table
• Assisting with set up and take down of tents, tables, chairs and activity stations.
• Providing event information and directions to attractions within the event.
• Assisting with line-up management and assisting with event traffic flow.
• Handing out flyers, maps, or other promotional material.
• Providing general assistance as directed by event staff.
• Directing visitors to the City Info Booth for additional information about City services.

Working Conditions and Attire: This event is indoors. Bring a peanut free snack and a water bottle. 

Requirements:

• Minimum of 16 years of age
• Able to safely lift 20lbs
• Previous customer service experience is an asset
• Fluent in spoken English (fluency in a second language is an asset)
