MAY DAYS 2026 - May Day Parade - Sensory Friendly Zone Assistant

May Day Parade – Sensory Friendly Zone Assistant

Help to make the May Day Parade accessible for all community members by promoting the Sensory Friendly section of the May Day Parade.   The end of the parade route is designated as a quieter part of the parade, where horns and sirens will be turned off, and parade viewers can typically enjoy a less crowded section for viewing.  As the Sensory Friendly Zone Assistant, you will provide information to parade viewers on what to expect in the sensory friendly zone.   When the parade reaches the area, you will hold up and animate signage to let parade vehicles know they are entering the Quiet Zone and should lower their volume for the last part of the route.
