Opening Ceremonies - Event Host
Enjoy the official opening of the 103rd annual May Day Festival, May 3rd at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre (PCCC), featuring maypole dancing by local children and 2026 May Day Royal Party.
Volunteers are wanted for a variety of roles, including welcoming visitors to the event, helping to guide the Royal Party from the Lounge to their performance in the Jon Bailey Arena and directing VIPs to their seats in the VIP area. Once guests are seated, volunteers are invited to sit and enjoy the Opening Ceremonies.
Date: Sunday, May 3rd, 2026
Times: 2:00pm - 4:30pm
Location: Port Coquitlam Community Centre, 2150 Wilson Avenue, Port Coquitlam
Meet in Arena Lobby
Volunteer duties may include: Welcoming visitors to the event, helping to guide the Royal Party from the Lounge to their performance in the Jon Bailey Arena and directing VIPs to the VIP area.
Working Conditions: Indoors
Requirements:
- Minimum of 15 years of age
- Enjoy working independently and as part of a team
- Enjoy engaging with members of the public
- Experience in events or festivals is an asset
- Fluent in spoken English (fluency in a second language is an asset)
