Castle Park - Children's Activity Attendant
Port Coquitlam’s annual Canada Day event is returning for 2026! Everyone is invited to come together for a picnic in the park with live entertainment at Castle Park. Enjoy family-friendly games and festivities, a beverage garden, food trucks and more.
Volunteers are wanted for a variety of roles, including helping to run lawn games and art activities.
Date: Wednesday, July 1st, 2026
Times:
- 12:45pm - 4:45pm OR
- 4:30pm - 8:30pm
Location:
- Castle Park (2252 Castle Crescent)
- Check in at the Volunteer HQ tent
Specific volunteer duties will include: Welcoming child and adult eventgoers. Helping run the lawn games, helping Recreation Leaders guide children and families through a variety of art activities. Taking down the lawn games and art activity stations once the event is over.
All Volunteers may end up doing these duties: set up and take down of tables, chairs and barricades, putting up/ taking down signage, providing information and direction, and assisting Special Events staff as needed.
Working Conditions: Canada Day at Castle Park will run RAIN OR SHINE. Please dress appropriately for the weather. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. Volunteers who support for 6 hours or more will be provided with a meal voucher for use at any food truck.
Requirements:
• Minimum of 14 years of age
• Experience working with children (variety of ages)
• Knowledge of children’s games and activities
• Comfortable interacting with the public
• Fluent in spoken English (fluency in a second language is an asset)
