Party in the Square - Little Sprockets Activity Attendant

May Days is celebrating 103rd years! Join us for the Party in the Square, featuring live entertainment, a May Days Market featuring local businesses and artisans, a Community Safety Fair, interactive art activities, beverage garden, food trucks and more! 

Volunteers are wanted for a variety of roles, including helping Recreation Leaders to set-up and guide children through a Little Sprockets peddle-bike track. 

Date: Saturday, May 9th, 2026

Times:

• 11:45am - 3:15pm OR
• 3:00pm - 6:30pm 

Note: Times may be subject to change.

Location:

• Port Coquitlam Community Centre (2150 Wilson Avenue)
• Check in at Volunteer Tent, just outside PCCC Courtyard Entrance

Specific volunteer duties will include: Assisting staff with the set-up of a peddle-bike track, including ramps, cones and signs. Welcoming child participants. Helping Recreation Leaders to ensure children are wearing helmets correctly and participating on the track safely. 

All Volunteers may end up doing these duties: set up and take down of tables, chairs and barricades, putting up/ taking down signage, providing information and direction, and assisting Events staff as needed.

Working Conditions: The Party in the Square will run RAIN OR SHINE. Please dress appropriately for the weather. Snacks will be provided.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 14 years of age
• Completion of a Criminal Record Check
• Experience working with children (variety of ages)
• Comfortable interacting with the public
• Fluent in spoken English (fluency in a second language is an asset)
