Volunteering at the Fort Saskatchewan Nourishment Centre

At the Fort Saskatchewan Nourishment Centre, volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. Our 180-person volunteer team puts in nearly 100 shifts every week to keep our programs running.

Please note: All volunteers must be 18 years of age or older. Individuals who have accessed FSNC programs or services within the past 12 months are not eligible to volunteer at this time.

Here's a look at our volunteering process:

  • Apply
    • Fill out a volunteer application by clicking the blue "Fill in an application" button on this page. Tell us a little about yourself, your availability, and why you want to volunteer with us.
  • A short interview
    • If your application looks like a good fit, we'll reach out to set up a short phone or video call to get to know you a little better and find you the right spot on our team.
  • A few quick requirements
    • Once we've confirmed you're a great fit, we'll ask you to complete a free food safety course, a criminal record check (we cover the fee), and sign our volunteer code of conduct. Most people wrap these up in a week or two — and we'll walk you through every step.
  • Get oriented and get started
    • You'll come in for an orientation to meet the team, see the space, and feel confident before your first shift. Then you're off — doing real, meaningful work in our community!
