FRONT OF HOUSE and Behind the Scenes 

 

Days/HOURS:  Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday

 The Charity shop is open to the public from 09:00 - 13:00 Tuesday - Fridaty but staff are in and we welcome volunteer help from 08:30 - 15:30 Volunteers can do any part of these hours and days (Hours can vary depending upon availability)  

 

DRESS CODE: Smart Casual.  STEEL TOE CAP SHOES (can be provided) MUST be worn at all times.  Volunteer ID to be worn at all times.

 

SUMMARY OF ROLE

 

To help display donated and priced goods on the charity shop floor in an attractive and practicle manner. Help with the pricing of goods.

 

PRINCIPLE DUTIES

 

  • To display items for sale appropriately and with care.
  • To ensure correct manual handling procedure when lifting heavy goods.
  • To help price items for sale.
  • To answer queries from customers and signpost to management if appropriate.
  • Keep the sorting area clean and tidy at all times
  • To keep the shop floor clean and tide at all times.
  • To report to management and hazards or risks to the general public immediately
  • Comply with Health & Safety legislation at all times.
  • To attend relevant training or volunteer meetings as required.

  • Smartly dressed person who has the ability to work as part of a team or on their own.
  • To strictly maintain Durrell Wildlife health and safety procedures
