Fort Edmonton Park

Help keep our guests safe in the DARK, and join our event crew as a Bonfire Host. 

Bonfire Hosts are volunteers with a key role of ensuring safety and enjoyment onsite. The Bonfire Crew manages fires to ensure a safe beacon, warm up location, and are a key communication point. 

This is the volunteer opportunity for you, if you: 

• are eager to be responsible for maintaining a cozy fire
• are mindful of fire safety        (guidance provided)
• are comfortable using a radio      (guidance provided)
• have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills 
• have strong written/verbal communication skills 
• ADULTS ONLY are able to volunteer for this event  (18 years of age +)
• have knowledge of Fort Edmonton Park, or other recreation facility/civic events
• NEW VOLUNTEERS must be available for the DARK Orientation on Wednesday, September 17 or Saturday, September 20
• love Halloween, or general spookiness! 

Since Dark 2026 runs for thirteen nights from October 2 - 31, please sign up for as many dates as you wish. We recommend at least three evenings, to get to know the team, hit your stride, and have a sufficient amount of fun.
