Applying to become a volunteer with the City of Wanneroo
The City of Wanneroo appreciates the wonderful work of all our volunteers and is always looking out for more community members interested in volunteering.

Don’t see a role that interests you? Click Join Us! and complete the application form to register your interest in future opportunities. Our volunteer applicant pool is frequently used in the first instance to fill vacancies. People in the volunteer applicant pool are also sent information from time to time about current volunteering opportunities both with the City of Wanneroo and also with external agencies (where you have indicated an interest in these on your application form).
Prior to completing the application form you will be asked to create a MyImpact registration - you can then log into this at any time to view updated information and vacancies.

What happens after I apply?
Expressions of Interest for an advertised role are reviewed by the relevant Volunteer Supervisor. You may then be invited to come to a 'Meet and Greet'....this is an opportunity for both you and the Volunteer Supervisor to decide if there is a good fit between yourself and the volunteer role.
If you have registered your interest in our Volunteer Program via Join Us! our Program Administrator will send it onto areas that might be a good match for you. If we can't match you to a suitable role immediately, we will place you in our 'volunteer applicant pool'. We will email you with information on new volunteering opportunities with the City and, if you wish, any that we hear of in the community.
We endeavour to contact all applicants to let you know what is happening with your application. Please note that before commencing in a volunteer role at the City of Wanneroo, all applicants must provide a current (within the last 6 months) Volunteer National Police Certificate. If you need to apply for one, the City will do this on your behalf and cover the cost. Any volunteers working with persons under the age of 18 years also require a Working with Children Check. If you need to apply for a WWCC the City will supply an application form and reimburse you the application cost on provision of receipt. All volunteers need to complete a City Induction and a site specific induction and role orientation prior to commencing in their role.

All City of Wanneroo volunteers are assigned a Volunteer Supervisor who you should speak to in the first instance if you have any queries or concerns. Otherwise you are welcome to contact the Community Planning and Development team via email or phone (see details above). City volunteers can also access our MyImpact Volunteer Portal through clicking on the 'Log in to your account' link.
