Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care volunteer programs. There are 3 avenues prospective volunteers can choose from depending on interest and availability.

The first option is to participate in training and become an ongoing volunteer. Volunteers who join our team must complete an application, go through a screening process, and train for the role in which they wish to serve. You'll find the list of ongoing volunteer needs on this page, under the section labeled "Apply Now! Current Volunteer Opportunities".

**Massage therapists, hair stylists, notaries, and pet therapy teams can click any of the "hospice" options to apply.

**Team Pajamas (our teen and young adult volunteer program) is listed under Kansas City Hospice House and NorthCare Hospice House.

Training for the various ongoing roles is held virtually throughout the year. Should you wish to become a part of our ongoing volunteer corps, please select the area in which you'd like to volunteer and complete the online volunteer application form. You will be contacted when a training that meets your interests becomes available (for most roles training is available right away).

The second option is to make a difference as part of our Story Boutique or Heart & Soul volunteer team. We’re looking for friendly volunteers to fill regular shifts helping customers with shopping and purchases and accepting donations. There are also non-customer-facing duties which may include sorting donations, organizing and cleaning, creating displays, researching prices, helping with online sales, taking merchandise photos, writing blog posts, and more. If you’d like to join the Story Boutique or Heart & Soul volunteer team please complete an application on this page, under the section labeled "Apply Now! Current Volunteer Opportunities".

The third option is to support us as a community volunteer. For this, there is no application, commitment of training, or need to accept an ongoing assignment. You respond to various opportunities, such as at fundraising events, or make crafts such as heart door hangers, make a quilt or blanket, serve a meal at a hospice house, provide baked goods, or host a community drive to collect needed items for patients. You can view our Community Volunteer Opportunities flyers for community volunteer projects. By requesting volunteer information online, you are automatically put on an email distribution list and will periodically receive a list of community volunteer opportunities from us.

We look forward to hearing from you!
