Nature Work Parties (All ages)
Join others in caring for Surrey's unique urban forest by removing invasive plants and litter from our parks. Everyone is welcome to participate - no experience is required. Tools and training provided.
There are usually 2-4 activities per month throughout the year.

Surrey Youth Stewardship Squad (SYSS) (Ages 13-18)
Surrey Youth Stewardship Squad (SYSS) is a platform for youth to take action on environmental issues. We restore and enhance our urban forest, advocate for our environment at community events, and grow a community of young leaders who care for nature.
There are usually 2-4 activities per month throughout the year.

Urban Forestry Leader (Ages 18+)
SPRING RECRUITMENT IS NOW CLOSED
Urban Forestry Leaders lead other volunteers in hands-on park and tree stewardship projects, and host nature activities at environmental events around Surrey.
Receive training in urban ecology, plant identification, ecological restoration, nature interpretation and group instruction and supervision.

Volunteer with us to care for Surrey’s parks, support vibrant community events, and help deliver engaging programs that connect people with park spaces and each other. From park clean-ups and featured garden maintenance to assisting at signature events and summer park play programs, our volunteers make a meaningful impact in creating welcoming, active, and healthy public spaces.
Garden Work Parties (Ages 16+)
Join our Head Gardeners in the care and maintenance of Surrey's beautiful feature and display gardens. Learn various skills including pruning, weeding, labelling, and more! Everyone is welcome to participate - no experience is required. Tools and training provided.
Please note: Garden Work Party shifts will be posted 1 month before each Garden Work Party.

Surrey is a big city, and it takes everyone working together to keep it clean and beautiful.
