The Age Friendly Strategy team is committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for 55+ older adults. Volunteers collaborate with and support staff in raising awareness and advancing the Age Friendly Action Plan through activities, events and outreach efforts.
The City of Surrey is a certified BC Age-Friendly Community, recognized through the Age-Friendly BC Recognition program, which is also acknowledged by the World Health Organization (WHO).
Try It 55+ Sports and Games

Try It: 55+ Sports and Games are FREE activities that encourage physical activity, maintain mobility and support social and health benefits.
The Try It 55+ Sports and Games Assistants play a significant role in facilitating a positive learning experience to participants who are new to the activities of their choice.
WALKit Activity

The WALKit Activity Program offers weekly walk on Wednesday at various locations. Age friendly walking routes are planned using the WALKit Web Map to explore different neighborhoods in the city.
As WALKit Activity Assistant, volunteers support the program by engaging community members on the walk, meet new people, and get some exercise!
