Wisconsin Aurora Medical Center Fond du Lac

Welcome to volunteering at Aurora Medical Center Fond du Lac.

We are sorry to report that we are currently not accepting applications to volunteer at our Fond du Lac location.  Feel free to apply to Aurora Oshkosh or consider our Advocate Virtual Volunteer option.  We will continue to accept applications for job shadowing opportunities for individuals who have already found an Aurora mentor.

Since our facility is new, you will have the unique opportunity to help us build our volunteer program.  We will work with you and our departments to create meaningful opportunities that tap into your talents.  Your volunteer participation will make a difference for our patients and care teams.

We welcome you to apply by clicking "Fill in an application".  Please answer the required information and click "Submit".  We will be in touch in within a few days.  We can't wait to meet you!

Aurora Medical Center Fond du Lac will offer a total of 185,000 square feet of clinical space, including 10 inpatient beds and an 8-bay emergency department.

With the growing number of health care services being offered with short-term and no overnight hospital stays, the design of the facility meets the community's needs by expanding access to specialty care. Virtual care offerings and in-person visits will continue to be offered.  The entry of the new facility is also designed with the community history in mind.  The medical center entrance features stonework inspired by the Niagara Escarpment geologic formation known as "the Ledge" in Fond du Lac and aims to encourage position imagery for patients.

Additionally, Aurora Health Care is committed to sustainable practices and wellness initiatives throughout the health care sector.  As a founding sponsor of Healthier Hospitals Program the community as well as those working at the facility will see the operational efficiencies, sustainable environments and safer and more favorable patient outcomes and experiences because of this facility module.

General Interests

Ambassador/Entrance Volunteer

Ambassadors and wayfinders welcome and escort patients and visitors throughout the hospital making them feel welcome and safe. You are helping to set the stage for a successful visit with us and you may be the last impression as they leave. This is a powerful role to help ensure our patients and visitors do not worry about where or how they get to their destination within our facilities. You help reduce that anxiety so they can focus on their healing journey.

Patient Facing/Patient Care Areas

We have a variety of volunteer roles focused on supporting the inpatients and our nursing teams. Our goal is to ensure every inpatient has the support they need during their stay and an excellent patient experience. Volunteers visit assigned patients regularly and use active listening skills to check in on their needs and provide emotional support. We also have volunteers who visit with activity carts and fresh baked cookies (at some locations) to lift their spirits.

Food Insecurities Programs

Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? Join us in our quest to end food insecurity! We’re seeking dedicated volunteers to help us with various tasks such as farm volunteering, where you’ll have the chance to work directly with the land that grows our food (Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, IL) or assisting in distributing fresh produce to patients and community members in need (Navicent Medical Center, GA), ensuring they have access to nutritious meals. Every effort counts in our mission to ensure everyone has access to healthy food. Sign up today and help our communities be healthy! Together, we can make a difference.
