Advocate Health Care and Aurora Health Care now part of Advocate Health

Welcome to the Advocate and Aurora Health Volunteer Team!

We are excited to share how our volunteers impact the patient experience as you explore our opportunities on our website! Please consider your talents, passion and time as you review the many possible ways you can give meaningfully to patients during the most challenging times in their lives.

To get started please select the location at which you would like to serve as a volunteer. Once on that location's page you will see an overview of the types of volunteer opportunities offered. Then you can complete your application and will be asked what type of volunteer role interests you. Don't worry, there is no commitment to that role. We just want to get an idea of what you like and how you want to serve. We'll figure out the best role for you during the placement interview.

We also want to share that candidates will be asked to complete the following requirements prior to the first day of volunteering:

a. Complete an online volunteer training.

b. Complete a free-of-charge medical screening at our employee health office including (this applies to in-person onsite volunteer only and not virtual volunteers):

  • Agree to a blood draw for TB (Tuberculosis)
  • Provide proof or agree to receive the following vaccinations:
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella) vaccine
    • Influenza (flu) vaccine – applies during flu season (usually October through March).

If you have a medical or religious reason for not receiving certain vaccines, you will have the option to submit an exemption form for review.

We will share with you detailed instructions and guide you through the process once you get accepted into the program.

c. Consent to a criminal background check (applies to anyone 18 years old and older)

Please note two important things:

1. Aurora Psychiatric Hospital and Aurora and Advocate Hospice require volunteers to be 18 years of age or older.

2. If you do not have an email address, please contact us directly at 262-853-3961 and do NOT complete an online application. We'll help you through a different process.

We are excited to meet you and have you join our team of amazing volunteers!
