General Interests

Hospice Patient Facing Roles

When you become a hospice volunteer you become part of a very special team who help to make every day count by bringing joy and enhancing our patient's quality of life. There are many ways to help as a hospice volunteer. We help you find the right fit for your unique interests, talents and abilities.

Office Support/Administrative

Volunteers do amazing work behind the scenes to help with special projects such as creating patient education folders, helping staff phones, stocking items or assisting with computer projects. We'll help you find the right project work that interests you!

Crafting

Memory bears, Cards, Prayer shawls, lap blankets...the list goes on and on with the many ways our talented volunteers share their gifts with our patients! We welcome any and all ideas of handmade items to lift the spirits of our patients. If you have an idea of something you'd like to share please let us know and we will work with you to create a new volunteer opportunity.

Musical Talent Opportunities

Our volunteer musicians visit patients and gathering spaces within to play music that provides a soothing escape from pain and isolation. Musicians typically play instruments such as piano, flute, harp, or any stringed instrument. Their talent is a gift to all -- our patients, teammates and visitors!

Pet/Animal Assisted Therapy

Our four-legged friends and their volunteer handlers bring joy and reduce anxiety for patients, visitors and teammates through our animal assisted therapy program. Dogs and at some sites, miniature horses, must be certified for animal assisted (pet) therapy and visit patients in their homes. They are beloved by all!

Spiritual Care

Our wonderful spiritual care volunteers partner with our spiritual care team to provide that much needed support for patients. Eucharistic ministers help deliver communion to patients and other volunteers help meet with patients to identify what type of spiritual care is needed so our chaplain team can get those resources for the patient.
