Homework Center Help Tuesdays & Thursdays 3:30-4:30

The University Community Branch library is seeking Homework Helpers for elementary and middle school students. Coaches must be willing to help students with a variety of assignments— from English papers and Chemistry problems, to basic addition/subtraction practice and reading aloud.

Start Date: September 2026

Availability:  Saturday, Tuesday,  Wednesday, Thursday 2:30-5:30 P.M. (will work with the right candidate on a suitable afternoon schedule)

Time Commitment:  1 Hour/week for at least 6 months.

Activities:  Assisting elementary school students with their homework, particularly Common Core math

Desired Qualities:

  • Comfortable communicating with children, teens and staff.
  • Willingness to learn and to follow instructions and library rules.

 

Volunteer Requirements:

  • Age 16-24
  • Background check required and Mandated Reporter Training required for volunteers 18 and older.
  • Reference checks.
  • Complete Annual Training and Site Orientation.

 

*Training and support will be provided.
