One Health Program: Vet Students
VOLUNTEER VETERINARY STUDENTS FOR REMOTE CLINICS
The WHS through partnerships with many animal rescues and community leaders. has witnessed first-hand the dire situation in these remote areas and decided to drastically increase the amount of resources we dedicate to these initiatives.
We are excited to be one step closer to providing a more humane solution to the current overpopulation of roaming, breeding, and “problem” dogs, living in these remote areas through remote spay & neuter clinics.
If we work collaboratively and make a sustained effort to conduct as many spay and neuter clinics as possible, we hope that in time there will be fewer unwanted pets, fewer puppies without homes, and the safety of children and the elderly will also improve.
Scope of the Activity
Volunteer Vet students will assist the team in performing surgeries and medical care to animals for scheduled clinics.
Time Commitment
Remote clinics are planned in advance over an extended weekend and depending on location, may require fly-in and/or drive. Accommodations, meals mileage, and/or flight will be paid for by the WHS.
