Are you friendly and outgoing? Do you like to help others? This is a great opportunity for you to help visitors to the courthouse find the information and resources they need. Volunteer shifts are available M-F between 8:30am and 4:30pm.
Lobby Greeter (Volunteer)
Purpose: To make all courthouse visitors feel welcome and offer assistance
Hours necessary: 4-hour shifts between 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, M – F (excluding holidays)
Time commitment: At least one 4-hour shift per week
Supervisor: County Volunteer Coordinator and Operations Executive Assistant
Typical Duties:
- Welcome and greet visitors to the county’s courthouse lobby
- Answer incoming phone calls and transfer to the appropriate department as necessary
- Direct lobby traffic to the appropriate office or service provider
- Effectively communicate accurate information whether in person or on the telephone
- Maintain professionalism and a positive attitude and provide exemplary customer service
- Maintain cleanliness and neatness of the information desk area
- Preserve strict confidentiality regarding any encounters with the public and/or employees
- Perform such other related duties as may be assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Demonstrated outstanding customer service
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers and staff
- Excellent telephone skills and ability to manage and transfer incoming calls as needed
- Ability to exhibit patience and understanding with customers in search of assistance
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must complete a volunteer application and attend a volunteer orientation
- Must sign a confidentiality statement, liability waiver and photo release consent form
- Must undergo a background check
- Must complete mandatory trainings as instructed
