Technical Volunteer

Program Name: Technical Projects Design, make or modify equipment for people with a disability whose needs cannot be met commercially. Working closely with a Project Coordinator the volunteer will use their problem solving skills to develop a solution to suit a client's needs. Work is done in your own workshop, however, initially you will need to visit the client with the Project Coordinator, (this can be optional if you prefer not to have contact with the client), you will be reimbursed for petrol, materials, phone calls etc. Solve matches volunteers to work that are within their skill base and generally the clients are within the area they reside. Volunteers can take on as many or as few projects as they like, the hours they work can fit in with their lifestyle and other commitments. Skills needed for the role: - Technical and practical skills in a trade, engineering or handy person skills - Friendly and pleasant manner - Good problem solving skills
