Aiming High VCE Support Program - Volunteer VCE Tutors

We are looking for passionate tutors specialising in Chemistry, Biology, Psychology or English/EAL to join our team supporting students from Secondary Schools within Hume who are doing their VCE.

The award winning Aiming High VCE Support Program involves a select group of students, mostly from migrant and refugee backgrounds, who display potential in their VCE studies and are committed to doing their best. Tutors will assist students in understanding the subjects they are studying, developing exam study and time management strategies, as well as providing general support in what can be a stressful time to students.

Tutors will work with students on a one on one basis or within a small group.

The Aiming High VCE Study Group also offers students a variety of speakers and workshops throughout the year to complement their studies.

Skills required for the Role:
* Current knowledge of VCE level curriculum and expectations in exams
*  The ability to explain concepts to students
* Ability to work with students on strategies to optimise their VCE year
* Commitment to supporting students through stressful times.

Time Commitment: 2 hours per week from 4pm to 6pm on Mondays at Craigieburn or Tuesdays at Broadmeadows during school term time, and ask that tutors commit to the program until VCE exam time.
