Multicultural Youth Tutor
Out of School Hours Learning Support Programs (OSHLSPs) provide support to primary and secondary school students from refugee and migrant backgrounds. Tutors at the OSHLSP provide after school tutoring to small groups of students, focusing on literacy development and assisting students to complete homework and assignments. Responsibilities include: Tutoring students individually or in small groups to develop literacy, numeracy and study skills; Assisting students to complete homework and assignments; Participating in training about working with young people from refugee backgrounds. Location/Hours: OSHLSPs are held at schools, libraries and community centres across Melbourne. Volunteer tutors will be asked to work one night per week during school terms for approximately 2 hours. You must hold a current Working with Children Check or be willing to obtain one.
