Volunteer Match Program with Extended Families
Extended Families Australia is a group of volunteers who believe that having joy in your life and being a part of your community is important for everyone. To that end, we support people aged 0-30 and their families in Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula to build friendships and connect with their community.
Extended Families Australia supports diverse families and is seeking the same in our volunteers. No matter who you are or where you’re from, we would love to hear from you!

Our Volunteers assist us within the Volunteer Match program. The Volunteer Match program aligns families with a volunteer to assist a child or young person with a disability. Our first step is to undertake a ‘matching process’ to link you with a person and their family with whom you share common interests. We provide comprehensive training an ongoing support from our experienced Volunteer Coordinators. Once matched with a participant, our program is very flexible. You might do anything from playing games together, going to sports practice, shopping, reading books or going to the movies.
