Freedom Wheels Project
Freedom Wheels bike program takes place in Kew. It is a special program that enables children with disabilities to experience the thrill of riding a bike. Volunteers can assist in the following ways: Bike Assessment Clinics- The specific needs of clients are assessed by therapists and volunteers assist at clinics which involves changing seats, pedals, attaching postural supports etc. Bike Assembly- Once the needs of the clients have been assessed and an order for a bike has been submitted, the bike is assembled to the clienrs specifications by volunteers Bike Courier Service- Families are encouraged to collect the finished bikes, however in some circumstances they may not be able to collect the bike and volunteers are required to transport the bike.
