Adult Conversational English Volunteer
The role of the Volunteer in the Adult Conversational English class is a highly regarded position at Meadows Primary School Community Hub. We have a high number of parents for whom English is a second language and are looking for support to connect to their school community. Brief description of the role: Volunteers provide a welcome for participants and interact with participants to build wider community relationships and support to practice their English language skills. Volunteers may be asked to speak one on one with participants to assist facilitators in the delivery of the A.C.E. program. An interest in community development and ability to take directions from the ACE facilitators. Competency in speaking English is a necessity Fluency in a community language is an asset but not essential. On the job training with peer mentors will be provided in the program. A current Working with Children's Check is required. Registration and completion of the Community Hub Volunteer Pathway induction program is required.
