Sunshine Kids-Musha Vana Volunteer Fundraisers

Sunshine Kids-Musha Vana is looking for a dedicated and skilled Volunteer Fundraisers who will be responsible for raising money for the charity. The role will be reporting to a Fundraiser Manager who will be responsible setting fundraising targets by approaching members of the public (‘community fundraising’), high value donors, companies, alumni (in the case of universities), trusts and statutory bodies, and other supporters.

Raising funds from the community can be very rewarding and enjoyable. Volunteer fundraisers play a vital role in helping to ensure Sunshine Kids – Musha Vana can be there for the thousands of vulnerable children and women in Africa. Income generation is key to our continued success. As a volunteer fundraiser you will be able to organise your own events and help to encourage other volunteers to fundraise for the charity. The role is flexible to suit your commitments and interest.

 

Role Description

 

Being a volunteer fundraiser can involve:

  • Undertaking collections;
  • Attending and supporting our fundraising events; or
  • Organising your own fundraising events;
  • Encouraging others to fundraise or volunteer for us.

 

All appropriate materials to support your role to be provided by us including a volunteer

fundraising booklet with ideas for raising money and all the information you need to know. The

Community Fundraising Manager will be available to give you continuous support, advice and guidance.

 

Personal qualities required:

  • An interest and commitment to fighting the course for Sunshine Kids – Musha Vana
  • Good interpersonal skills, you will be friendly, professional and have a persuasive manner
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Strategic and thorough in recording details
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Previous experience of working or volunteering in the not-for-profit sector or working in child protection/safeguarding (voluntary or statutory), is desirable but not essential
  • Previous experience in fundraising/event management is desirable but not essential
