National Mill Dog Rescue

Medical & Medication Support

Volunteers in this role ensure that NMDR dogs receive their necessary medical care efficiently and safely. Medical Intake Runners transport newly rescued dogs to and from their kennels for their initial veterinary exams, vaccinations, and treatments. Medication Delivery Team members assist with administering prescribed medications during designated AM and PM shifts.

This role requires patience, confidence, and careful handling, as many dogs are unfamiliar with human interaction. Volunteers must be able to safely leash-walk dogs or carry smaller ones when needed. Close coordination with the veterinary team is essential to ensure each dog receives proper care and follow-up as required.

This is a fast-paced but rewarding opportunity that directly supports the rehabilitation of commercial breeding survivors, giving them the best start on their journey to a brighter future.

Mission Statement

The mission of National Mill Dog Rescue is to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home discarded breeding dogs and to educate the general public about the cruel realities of the commercial dog breeding industry.
