Sewing Volunteer

Do you like to sew? Be a Sewing Volunteer! You'll teach beginners how to use a machine and assist other teens who need help with their sewing projects.

Requirements: Ages 14-17. Must be proficient at using a sewing machine and be comfortable instructing other teens.

Time Commitment:

We will hold casual volunteer interviews on Tuesday, January 14^th and Thursday, January 16^th. Fifteen-minute timeslots are available from 2:30-4 PM. We will contact you in January to schedule if you meet our availability requirements.

Must be able to commit to the following dates and times (you get volunteer hour credit each time!):

• One of the following orientations:
  • Tuesday, January 21^st 2-4 PM
  • Or Thursday, January 23^rd 3-5 PM
• AND certification class to get your library sewing certificate:
  • February 11^th 2-4 PM
• AND at least one practice (we will be making the projects ahead of time that we’ll be doing in Maker March):
  • Tuesday, February 18^th, 2-4 PM
  • Tuesday, February 25^th, 2-4 PM
• AND at least two of the following programs for Maker March:
  • March 6^th, 2:30-5:30 PM
  • March 13^th, 2:30-5:30 PM
  • March 20^th, 2:30-5:30 PM
  • March 27^th, 2:30-5:30 PM

Remember, you will receive credit for EACH event you attend!
