RSPCA NSW Illawarra Branch – General Volunteer

Times commitment 

We’re looking for volunteers who can help out any time of the day! Any time and tasks you can spare is always appreciated.  If you’re only available on certain days, you can mark this in your application. 

 

About the role 

With the Illawarra Branch, you’d be helping passionate people raise funds that will go straight to helping the welfare of the animals in the Illawarra local region by way of our inspectorate, nearby shelters, and through community assistance. In this role you’d be assisting at our fundraising events across the area, participating in vaccination/microchipping days, and helping plan and coordinate future group endeavours. While we don’t work directly with animals, we are impacting how animals are treated and provided for through the work we do. 

 

What this volunteer role looks like 

  • Organising donations and preparing them for stalls/fundraising events 

  • Coordinating with other volunteers regarding events and stall organisation 

  • Handling merchandise for use at stalls and events 

  • Understanding organisational information and providing it to interested people 

  • Comply with all Work Health and Safety (WHS) guidelines 

  • Understand and comply with RSPCA NSW policies and procedures

What we need from you 

  • At least 18 years old 

  • Understanding of RSPCA NSW or charitable organisations 

  • Physical ability to lift up to 10 kilograms 

  • Ability to follow direction, to work within a team and work individually 

  • Good verbal and written communication skills 

  • Willingness to get a little dirty 

  • Well organised, reliable and able to prioritise 

  • Passion for interacting with people and animals 

  • Positive attitude
