RSPCA NSW Stray Care Transport Volunteer – Keeping Cats Safe at Home

Are you ready to make a real difference in the lives of animals in need? If you're passionate about animal welfare and eager to contribute to our mission, then we have an exciting opportunity for you!
This targeted desexing project aims to address cat overpopulation and reduce numbers of stray and semi-owned cats by working together with councils, veterinary practices, rescue groups, cat caregivers and volunteers by providing free desexing to 30 LGA’s within New South Wales.
As a Stray Care Volunteer, you will help provide transportation support to cat caregivers and cats in need, gaining valuable skills and community service experience. RSPCA NSW will ensure that you receive appropriate training and will provide ongoing support.
What you'll be doing
- Safely transporting cats between client homes and veterinary clinics
- Delivering completed participant paperwork to vet clinics
- Following WHS guidelines and RSPCA NSW policies
- Representing RSPCA NSW in the community in a friendly and professional manner
This role is ideal for those who understand that community outreach plays a profound and essential part in advancing animal welfare.
What we're looking for
- At least 18 years of age
- Current Class C driver's licence
- Access to a reliable, insured vehicle
- Able to lift up to 10kg
- Comfortable handling cats, with basic behaviour knowledge desirable
- Good communication skills
- Organised and reliable
- Willing to undergo a National Criminal History Check (cost covered by RSPCA NSW)
Shifts available
This is a flexible, as-needed role. Transport generally occurs Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm.
