Internship Opportunity: Marketing & Development Internship The opportunity is strictly developed for RMIT Design Intern students only.
The Marketing and Development Internship with the National Trust of Australia (Victoria) (NTAV) offers a hands-on opportunity to build digital marketing and content skills within the heritage sector. You’ll support website content migration, enhance usability and accessibility, and help bring stories to life across digital platforms. Working closely with our Digital Marketing Specialist, you’ll contribute to content creation, event listings, and storytelling across social media and e-newsletters. This role also provides exposure to campaigns spanning tourism, fundraising, and membership, making it ideal for students or emerging professionals eager to gain practical experience in a purpose-driven organisation.
Key Tasks
Review and adapt website content to improve audience engagement, usability, accessibility and searchability. Support the implementation of contemporary web design principles and content presentation. Upload and maintain bookable events and experiences on the National Trust Victoria website. Assist with website quality assurance, including checking links, formatting and user experience. Work alongside the Digital Marketing Specialist to capture content across National Trust properties and events. Create and prepare content for owned channels including social media, website and e-newsletters. Support content planning and digital storytelling activities. Gain exposure to heritage, tourism, fundraising, membership and cultural sector marketing campaigns.
Desired Skills
Strong written communication skills and attention to detail. Interest in digital marketing, content creation and website management. Familiarity with social media platforms and digital content trends. Basic to moderate understanding of WordPress (or similar Content Management System). Basic understanding of accessibility and user experience principles (desirable but not essential). Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities. Interest in heritage, culture, tourism, community engagement or the not-for-profit sector.
