Hospice Ambassador

We are looking for people who will act as ambassadors for The Mary Stevens Hospice, helping to raise awareness of the specialist palliative and end of life care that we provide.

What will I be doing?

As a Hospice Ambassador, you’ll be a friendly face in the community, proudly representing the hospice and helping more people learn about the care and support the we provide.

As part of this role you will-

  • Attend community and fundraising events on behalf of the hospice
  • Help raise awareness of hospice services in  the local community
  • Give inspiring talks and presentations
  • Attend cheque presentations and receive donations
  • Share your personal experiences of hospice care, if you have been supported by The Mary Stevens Hospice

What skills and experience will I need? 

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good time keeping skills
  • Planning and organisation
  • Confident with public speaking
  • Interpersonal Skills
  • Empathetic and understanding
  • A full clean driver's license

How often will I be volunteering?
This role is ad-hoc volunteering and you will be informed when volunteers are required to support at our Hospice events or external events where we will be representing The Mary Stevens Hospice. This can involve, weekday, weekend and evening opportunities. 

What Support will I get?

Don’t worry if this is new to you, we’ll provide all the training and support that you need, including:

  • Learning about the services that the hospice provides
  • A toolkit of resources for talks, presentations and events
  • Ongoing support from the hospice team
