Welcome to volunteering with Toowoomba Regional Council

Crows Nest Community Nursery

Join the Cultivators of Our Community Nursery

Join a passionate and welcoming team of volunteers at Toowoomba Regional Council’s Crows Nest Community Nursery, a volunteer-based environmental nursery specialising in native plants found across the Toowoomba Region.

As a Native Plant Nursery Assistant, you’ll play a hands-on role in growing and maintaining local native species—plants that are drought-tolerant, climate-suited, and vital for supporting native wildlife such as birds, bees, and butterflies.

No experience is needed—just bring your enthusiasm and enjoy being part of a friendly team that values connection, learning, and making a difference. It’s a great way to meet new people, share knowledge, and have fun while contributing to a meaningful cause.

Volunteers assist with seed processing, plant propagation, stock movement, and general plant care. Tasks also include maintaining nursery spaces and garden beds, supporting record-keeping and admin duties, and helping with day-to-day nursery operations.

We’re looking for people with an interest in plants, a willingness to learn, attention to detail, and a team-oriented attitude. You’ll work alongside experienced horticultural staff in a supportive environment where every contribution counts.

Your efforts will help preserve the natural ecosystem of our region—and volunteers are truly the heart of the nursery’s success.

 Vacancies are limited.
