Franke Scrub (Bushcare - Highfields)

Join the Green Guardians of Franke Scrub

Looking for a meaningful way to spend your morning? Join a passionate group of volunteers who’ve been safeguarding Highfield’s Franke Scrub's unique and endangered environment for nearly two decades.

 About Franke Scrub

Franke Scrub is a small but ecologically significant remnant of dry rainforest, covering approximately 1.5 hectares. Despite its small size, Franke Scrub is incredibly species-rich, home to over 50 species of trees and shrubs, along with more than 15 types of climbers. Its biodiversity makes it a vital refuge for native flora and a valuable site for conservation efforts.

About the Franke Scrub Team

Franke Scrub Volunteers meet on the last Wednesday of each month, from 8 am to 11 am, working independently to manage invasive weeds using supplied tools such as pruners and bush saws. The morning includes a refreshing tea break offering a chance to connect—because community is just as important as conservation.

New volunteers will receive a friendly induction into the organisation, including guidance on safe working practices and how we operate on-site—so you’ll feel confident and supported from day one.

Whether you're a seasoned bush regenerator or just starting out, your time and energy can make a real impact.

Make a difference. Feel connected. Help nature thrive.
