Role Purpose

St Giles Hospice offers emotional, physical and practical support for our patients, and those important to them. Whether it’s helping with pain relief, supporting a loved one or just being there to listen, we understand that sometimes it’s the little things that can make the biggest difference.
This role supports the work of our housing keeping and our kitchen staff in providing the best experience to our in-patients and their families.

- To empty all waste food into the waste disposal unit, placing other waste materials into labelled containers in washing-up area, e.g. wastepaper and non-disposable tray cloths.
- To unload the washer/steriliser, dry plastic tumblers, water jugs, cups and mugs using paper towel, other crockery can be left to air, stack clean crockery/cutlery on trolley and put away in appropriate place
