Client Helpers - Volunteer Social Media Client Liason
ISR is looking for a volunteer who is social media savvy. Someone who can post on Facebook and the NextDoor app for help, on behalf of clients who do not use technology. You will be a volunteer connected to Island Senior Resources Aging & Disability Resources Department and will work closely with the team.
This is currently, likely to be 2-4 posts a month, managing the responses, and calling the client with contact info from responders. (This may increase, if so, we will recruit additional volunteers as needed).
Example 1: a client is 82 yrs old, homebound and needs someone to do laundry at the laundromat on a weekly basis and will pay for the service. Client lives in Coupeville and all responses can be sent to the client via email or phone. Once the client has the request filled, the volunteer would update the post as "FILLED or COMPLETE" and report to ADR staff through Better Impact, ISR's Volunteer management software.
Example 2: a 67 yr old client is looking for a room to rent but is not on Facebook or knowledgeable with social media. Volunteer would call the client and collect enough info to create a post (do they have pets, are they a smoker, how much can they afford, do they come with references, etc) and post on Facebook and NextDoor. Once the responses come in, call the client and provide the responses and contact info for those who have rooms to rent and info they provided about the location of the home, rent they are asking for, and any other details.
Example 3: a client is 74 yrs old and is in hospital/rehab and not able to use social media. They have a dog that the neighbor has been feeding and letting out but the dog is showing signs of depression and not eating well. Client is asking for a short-term foster so the dog has some companionship, until they return. Volunteer would call the client and gather details about the dogs needs/preferences (does it do well with other dogs/cats, need a fenced yard, etc,). Once there are responses, share them with the client so they can have the neighbor coordinate a meet-n-greet and see if the dog responds to the potential foster. Volunteer would again mark the post on social media as "FOSTER FOUND", and report to ADR staff through Better Impact, ISR's Volunteer management software.
Volunteer duties:
- Receive request from ISR staff and create a post. This may include calling the client for more details.
- Answering responses from the community (they may have specific questions).
- Gathering contact info for responders who meet the clients criteria (they are willing to do laundry, have a room for rent, able to foster the dog, etc) and share with the client via phone or email.
- Follow up with the client once a week until the request has been filled and update the post as "COMPLETE".
- Report outcomes to ISR through Better Impact, ISR's Volunteer and Client management software.
