Support - Naturalist Volunteer
Naturalist volunteers help further knowledge about the City's diverse natural resources. They help City biologists by identifying and documenting plant and animal species that they observe in the City's Open Space parks and canyons. Their primary field tool will be the iNaturalist app which will allow their observations to be verified by biologists and other field experts. Observations submitted by naturalist volunteers will help City biologists make informed land management decisions.
Number of volunteers desired: 4
Time commitment: flexible; between 2 - 16 hours per week.
Duration: Ongoing / Long-term
Desired skills: hiking, plant identification, animal identification, familiarity smart phones, familiarity with the iNaturalist.
