Volunteer Engagement - Trades Hall Visit

Victorian Trades Hall Guided Tour
Join us for a guided tour of the historic Victorian Trades Hall Council, Australia's oldest trades hall building and the enduring home of Victoria's trade union movement.
Constructed in 1859 as a rallying point for the labour movement and a place to educate workers and their families, the building evolved between 1874 and 1925 into the magnificent two-storey landmark we see today, complete with its classical columns and pediment. In addition to its rich industrial heritage, Trades Hall is now a vibrant cultural venue, hosting performances as part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Melbourne Fringe Festival.

Date: Wednesday, 12 August 2026
Time: 11:00 am
Location: Victorian Trades Hall Council  54 Victoria Street, Carlton VIC 3053
The guided tour size is a maximum group size of 25 people. If numbers exceed capacity, an additional tour group can be arranged, provided final numbers are confirmed before Wednesday, 5 August.
Following the tour, those who wish are invited to join the group for lunch at the nearby Curtin Hotel.
