Homework Help Center Volunteer Training
Homework Help Center volunteers help children in elementary and middle school with their homework under the supervision of a staff member. Homework Help Center is open every Monday through Thursday from 3:45 to 5:45 PM but will be closed on F.U.S.D. or Alameda County Library holidays. This training session is for the upcoming Homework Help Center semester which runs from January to May 2026.
If you are interested in volunteering in the Homework Help Center, you must attend a volunteer training session. These training sessions will be held in-person at the Fremont Main Library.
Training Dates:
Please sign up to attend ONLY ONE of the training sessions listed below:
- Monday, Dec. 29th from 4:00 – 5:00 PM in the Storytime Theater
- Wednesday, Jan. 7th from 4:00 – 5:00 PM in the Storytime Theater
Qualifications:
- Must be a High School Student
- Bilingual (Preferred but not required - we especially need volunteers who are proficient in reading/writing in Mandarin and Spanish)
- Available once a week (Mon. - Thurs.) from 4 to 6 PM
- Must attend a Homework Help Center Training
- Must commit to volunteering for a 2-hour shift once per week for the entire semester (Jan. - May 2026)
At the discretion of the library, you may have the option to volunteer more than once a week. Speak to the librarian after receiving Homework Help Center training if you are interested.
