Heritage Activity Assistant
Looking to get some summer volunteer hours under your belt? Like being outside, working with kids and learning a little along the way? Join the Historic Stewart Farm volunteer team as a Heritage Activity Assistant.
We’re looking for volunteers to help with our summer day camps and other public programs. You would work closely with the staff team to set up camp activities, help the kids have a fun day, and enjoy the beauty of Elgin Heritage Park.
The schedule is flexible so you can still enjoy your own summer adventures. Love your time with us? Stay part of the team through the Fall to enjoy Christmas at the Farm too.
All training is provided, no experience necessary. Great for high school students looking to add to their scholarship applications and resumes.

Historic Stewart Farm (13723 Crescent Road, South Surrey)
Responsibilities
· Assisting with craft preparation, set up and clean up for programs and special events
· Leading heritage demonstrations such as butter and ice cream churning, fun games, apple peeling and face painting
· Engaging with visitors to participate in programs and events
· Advising staff when program & event supplies are running low
· Offering program feedback to staff and identifying potential program improvements
· Reading notes, attending training, observing mentors, and studying program content
Application Process
Step #1 – Eligibility Requirements
To apply to be a volunteer in the Heritage Services volunteer program, you must be:
- 14 years or older
- Eligible to volunteer in Canada (check your travel documents, if applicable)
Step #2 – Apply
- Fill in an application
- Attend an interview
- Submit 2 references
- Complete a Police Information Check
Step #3 – Volunteer
- When all the above steps have been completed, you will be contacted by phone or email by an Heritage Service administrator
This process can take up to 6 weeks so we thank you for your diligence and patience. Once you are eligible to volunteer, log-in to your profile at MyImpactPage.com to search and sign up for volunteer activities, confirm shifts and record your hours of service.
