Anchor - Pantry Organization Support
Anchor provides crisis and case management and emergency food for families across DC. Volunteers play a vital role in ensuring our food pantry remains organized, welcoming, and culturally responsive for the clients we serve.
We are seeking volunteers on selected Fridays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm to help organize the pantry following new delivery items. Please check the calendar to sign up for desired dates and shifts.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Build non‑perishable food bags
- Sort and organize incoming food donations
- Work directly with staff in the pantry area
- Help maintain inventory and ensure items are culturally appropriate
Desired Skills, Experience & Characteristics
- Ability to stay organized and follow established processes
- Comfort working collaboratively as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and build hands‑on experience
- Flexibility with tasks and shifting needs
Qualifications
- Must be 18 or older
- Able to lift 20 lbs
