Anchor - Pantry Organization Support

Anchor provides crisis and case management and emergency food for families across DC. Volunteers play a vital role in ensuring our food pantry remains organized, welcoming, and culturally responsive for the clients we serve.

We are seeking volunteers on selected Fridays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm to help organize the pantry following new delivery items. Please check the calendar to sign up for desired dates and shifts.  

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Build non‑perishable food bags
  • Sort and organize incoming food donations
  • Work directly with staff in the pantry area
  • Help maintain inventory and ensure items are culturally appropriate

Desired Skills, Experience & Characteristics

  • Ability to stay organized and follow established processes
  • Comfort working collaboratively as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn and build hands‑on experience
  • Flexibility with tasks and shifting needs

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 or older
  • Able to lift 20 lbs
