Help make a difference in your local community by volunteering as a Lead Volunteer at our upcoming Big Bucket Collection Weekend.

As the Lead Volunteer, you'll be the friendly face of St Giles Hospice, supporting fellow volunteers, raising awareness of our services, and helping to ensure the collection runs smoothly. Due to the responsibility of overseeing collection buckets and cash handling procedures, this role requires a current DBS check.

What you'll be doing:

• Greeting customers as they enter and leave the venue.
• Sharing information about St Giles Hospice and the difference donations make.
• Encouraging support in a friendly, positive, and respectful way.
• Acting as the main point of contact for volunteers during your shift.
• Helping to ensure collection buckets and tins are handled securely and in line with charity procedures.
• Assisting with the distribution and return of collection materials.
• Answering basic questions about the hospice and our work.
• Thanking supporters for their generosity.
• Following venue and health and safety guidelines.
• Representing St Giles Hospice with warmth, professionalism, and enthusiasm.

What we're looking for:

• A confident and reliable volunteer who is happy to take the lead during the collection.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• A current DBS check.
• A passion for supporting St Giles Hospice and our local community.

We'll provide all the information and support you need, and our fundraising team will be on hand throughout the event.

Every conversation, smile, and donation helps us continue providing specialist care and support to local people living with a terminal illness, as well as their loved ones.
