TEEN Volunteer Opportunities at Albany Library - Youth Poet Laureate Volunteer
Our annual Alameda County Youth Poet Laureate program opens on April 1st and we are looking for poets from across the county to participate. Help make this program a success by serving as a Youth Poet Laureate Volunteer and spread the word.
Volunteers help support the Alameda County Youth Poet Laureate program by raising awareness of the program, encourage friends and schoolmates to participate and modeling ideal poet behavior by writing and sharing poetry themselves. Ideas for volunteer activities include:
- Promoting the program to friends, school colleagues, and teachers
- Working with your teachers and school administrators to share information about the program
- Posting flyers in public places, parks, and local businesses (after securing permission)
- Starting a poetry club or group with the purpose of all submitting to the program
To participate sign up using the link on this page. You can find more information about the program on the website (https://aclibrary.org/youth-poet/).
When you log your hours for this activity, you’ll have a chance to describe what actions you’ve taken to highlight awareness of this program.
