POSITION TITLE: Income Tax Screener Volunteer
SCHEDULE: Mon – Thu, 9am – 330pm (flexible hours / shifts)
PROGRAM DATES: February 26th - April 27th
*one training session to be scheduled the week before Feb 26th
LOCATION: 2420 Montrose Avenue
REPORTS TO: Program Supervisor
POSITION SUMMARY
Archway Community Services is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to take on the part of Income Tax Screeners who can join our team. If you enjoy working in a social setting, helping people, organizing, and managing intake tasks please apply.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greeting clients and ensuring they have the appropriate tax information
- Assisting other tax volunteers in screening client intake and information (volunteer will not be filling out tax forms)
- Maintaining client confidentiality and information encountered in the process of completing duties
- Following operating policies and procedures for the taxation service
- Commit to at least one shift per week: morning or afternoon
- Reporting questions or concerns to the Program Supervisor / Lead Volunteer
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Certification:
- Criminal Record Check required
- Registration with the Community Volunteer Income Tax program (will be done at orientation)
Experience:
- Office experience helpful
Knowledge and Skill Set
- Basic working knowledge of Canadian taxation documents helpful
- Proficient in English
- Bilingual speaking ability is an asset (Punjabi, Spanish, Dari/Farsi, Hindi/Urdu, Ukrainian, etc.)

- Checking-in people for their appointments in a busy environment and/or potentially interacting with difficult situations or people.
