The Seniors Services offer a wide range of opportunities for 55+ community members to stay active, engaged and connected. Volunteers play a vital role in supporting these activities and programs, helping to create a welcoming and inclusive environment and strengthening our community.
We are currently recruiting volunteers as Food Services Assistant at the following locations:
Food Services Assistant
- Chuck Bailey Recreation Centre
- Cloverdale Recreation Centre
- Guildford Recreation Centre
- Newton Seniors Centre
Note: Volunteer shifts are typically scheduled Monday to Friday 9:00 am - 3:00 pm and will be determined according to the site need and volunteer availability.

Adult/55+ Recreation Activity Assistant
The City of Surrey provides a variety of volunteer-led drop-in activities, events and clubs for adult/55+ members. Volunteer Recreation Activity Assistants are instrumental in supporting staff in offering these services; in turn, they contribute to the health and wellbeing of participants and the community.

English Conversation Program
The English Conversation Program offers a positive and welcoming environment for people from diverse culture and background to practice English and meet others in the community. With the support from the Diversity and Inclusion staff team, volunteers design program materials and facilitate learning and interactions.
