The Salvation Army

For more than 150 years, The Salvation Army has sought to be a shield for those in crisis. When you partner with us to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, and provide hope to the lost, you become a shield, too. Often referred to as “the Army behind The Army,” volunteers play a crucial role in The Salvation Army’s ability to provide quality social services for the entire community.

We need people like YOU to stand with us and be a shield for our vulnerable neighbors. Read below to learn more about the current volunteer opportunities. Some of these opportunities might involve serving meals, administrative work, packing food bags in the pantry, painting or general maintenance projects, emergency disaster response, Angel Tree Christmas projects, or ringing the bells at one of the Red Kettles.

Check out the list of opportunities. Don’t see something that fits your interests or skills? That’s okay! Please contact us to suggest another way you might help change lives. The majority of our volunteer opportunities happen during the week, though there are early morning and evening opportunities available to fit any schedule.

To get started as a volunteer, please complete your volunteer registration on the upper right side of this page and then sign up through our online calendar. Thank you for exploring the many opportunities to help those in need and enhance our community as a volunteer. Be a volunteer. Be a difference maker. Be a Shield.
