Volunteer in Surrey’s Feature Gardens!

Join our team in Surrey's beautiful Feature Gardens, Darts Hill Garden Park and The Glades Woodland Garden! Help bring events and seasonal openings to life. Volunteers are key to creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for visitors. This is a great opportunity to connect with the community, enjoy the outdoors, gain horticultural knowledge, and support memorable experiences in one of Surrey’s most scenic spaces. Both gardens are located in South Surrey.

As a Feature Garden Volunteer, you will:

  • Receive training and gain experience in supporting garden openings and events.
  • Greet, direct, and remind guests of garden etiquette throughout the garden.
  • Help with set-up and take down of equipment.

Prior horticulture knowledge is not required

Feature Garden Volunteers are required to:

  • Participate in training prior to volunteering.
  • Commit to 8 volunteer shifts at the garden between April and September.
  • Interact with the public in a friendly and professional manner. 
  • Bring a positive and collaborative attitude!

Step 1 - Eligibility requirements: 
  • Must be 16 years old or older.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions. 
  • Able to travel to Darts Hill Garden Park (1633 170 Street) and The Glades Woodland Garden (457 172 Street).
    Travel by car is recommended. The gardens are challenging to access by public transit
    .

Step 3 - Volunteer

Park Partnerships will be hosting training and orientations for this opportunity will be March 21 from 1-3:30 pm (Darts) and May 1 5-7 pm (Glades). Shifts will be available every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from April 3 - September 27 between the hours of 10am and 4pm (shift lengths will vary). Garden event shifts include: spring and fall open-houses at Darts, Mother's Day at the Glades, Sounds of Summer concerts and more.
