The Recreation Associate assists with various activities at the site. They encourage client's participation in activities. 

Recreation Associate are the extra pair of "helping hands" that add to the trained services of the Long-term care facility staff, working together to enhance the lives of residents

Volunteers will assist with the setup, participation, and cleanup various programs;

Portering residents to and from activities

Activities to include:  Socializing and 1:1 visits, games, crafts, reading, guided exercises, storytelling, reminiscing, walking, etc.

Encouraging resident participation

Volunteers will accept direction & feedback from staff liaison & local volunteer services coordinator;

Volunteers are to be respectful of confidentiality in all interactions; and report any concerns or resident needs to Staff Liaison.
