Youth Council - Youth Coordinator Assistant
PURPOSE:
To assist youth coordinator with supervising youth council and
implementing youth council programs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
§ Assist with providing supervision during Youth Council
meetings, trips, and conferences,
§ Help prepare Youth Council members for public speaking
engagements,
§ Assist with fundraisers and publicity efforts,
§ Run errands such as picking up gift certificates, t-shirts, food for
meetings, etc.,
§ Brainstorm with Youth Coordinator on possible topics for
discussion at Youth Council meetings,
§ Assist with disseminating materials regarding Youth Council
Programs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working with youth is required. Education or experience in the mental health field is a plus. Prior exposure to fundraising and
publicity is helpful, but not required. Applicant must have a flexible schedule.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Training will be provided on: youth engagement and civic action as well as mental health disorders in youth. Training will take approximately 5 hours.
TIME AND PLACE:
1315 8th Avenue South, Nashville, Tennessee 37203
Most activities will take place between noon and 7:00pm
COMMITMENT: Ten hours per week.
SUPERVISION/EVALUATION: Supervision will be provided by
Tiffany Washington, Youth Coordinator. The volunteer will meet with supervisor pre and post shift. A performance evaluation will be conducted semi-annually. Interns will be supervised and evaluated according to the specifications of their school and program.
