Respite - Program Assistant

PURPOSE: To assist program coordinators with adding respite providers to the network, aiding families in signing up for respite services and evaluating effectiveness of the program. May also assist in continuation of funding. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Complete outcome evaluation surveys to find out if referrals are resulting in families receiving respite and investigate barriers * Assist in the development of marketing materials * Mail information packets to families and professionals * Survey families who are not using their respite subsidy to assess barriers * Process applications for families to enroll in the program * Assist in the recruitment of respite providers * Assist with outcome evaluation measures for quarterly reports * Research funding opportunities * Assist with setup and delivery of respite provider trainings QUALIFICATIONS: Computer skills and customer service skills required. Prior exposure to evaluating programs is helpful, but not required. Organizational skill and flexibility are a plus. TRAINING: Orientation will be conducted by the Volunteer Coordinator (one hour). On the job training will be conducted by the Program Coordinator and take approximately 4 hours. TIME AND PLACE: Nashville office of TN Voices for Children located at 1315 8th Avenue South, Nashville, TN 37203. Hours of operation: 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. COMMITMENT: At least one semester. Hours per week may vary. A set schedule will be determined during orientation. SUPERVISION/EVALUATION: Supervision will be provided by Dawn Carter Doak, Program Coordinator. The volunteer will meet with supervisor pre and post shift. A performance evaluation will be conducted at the end of each semester. Interns will be supervised and evaluated according to the specifications of their school and program.
